In August, New York, was presented to the first electric chopper with a proud name Smart Chopper. Creating a motorcycle was a joint project of the German company Siemens and the famous producers choppers from the U.S. - Orange County Choppers.

A single battery charge Smart Chopper enough to overcome the 60 km with a maximum speed of 160 km / h. Charging batteries chopper on usual power, but for a full charge will require 5 hours.

Smart Chopper motorcycle output 27 horsepower and weighing 160 kg has a 300-mm tire on its rear wheel, three-meter wheelbase and inclined 45 degrees, the front fork.


The first electric chopper made a tour of the U.S. to draw attention to technologies that do not harm the environment. At the end of the tour in 2010, Smart Chopper will be sold at auction.

Battery life of 60 km,i guess that wont be enough for a comfortable ride but still a great creation!!

Ya i said it that its a great achievement.But calculating the speeds and all mathematically,the bike wont last for more than 35 mins if it was to run at 160 kmph.. Wink ;)thats my point hehe..

i guess that'd b a lot less than 35....n yea ur rie!!...jus less than half an hour is really saddening!!...thikai fo a prototype thou....neva heard of an electric vehicle that fast!
