Hey bro this one's just out of curiosity...

1) Is it legal and easily possible to import second hand bikes to Nepal ??

2) How do you import bikes to Nepal? I guess via air? Isn't it a lot cheaper to get it here through shipping at Kolkatta and then by land to Kathmandu? Is there a lot of cost difference in this process?

3) Which would be the cheapest and easiest place to import a bike to Nepal from considering the freight and cargo expenses and excluding the cost of the bike? Is it Bangkok?

4) For instance I decide to import a bike worth Rs.2 lakh NC from Singapore. How much will it roughly cost me in total after adding up for taxes, custom duties, freight charges via air and registrations, etc.

5) Another final question. Lets say I buy a used bike in Singapore for Rs.2 Lakhs. I decide to import it here then. Can't I actually make the officials here believe that the bike cost me Rs1 Lakh only, to save up on the tax and custom figures. The prices for brand new bikes may be fixed but used ones are negotiable. So can the officials here actually know how much it cost me back there ??

Sorry for all that line of questions all at once. I guess you are the best guy around currently to ask regarding this. I will be waiting for your answers....

1) Is it legal and easily possible to import second hand bikes to Nepal ??

= It is not a easy task to import bike in Nepal unless you know vansar ko ppl.... Still 1 - 2 week you have to run here and there for documents.

2) How do you import bikes to Nepal? I guess via air? Isn't it a lot cheaper to get it here through shipping at Kolkatta and then by land to Kathmandu? Is there a lot of cost difference in this process?

= Most of we do my frieght. I don't have idea abt Shipping. But I can say it is more TROUBLESOME. 100% comfromation dina sakidaina bike can get into Nepal. One of my brother did shipping and recieved bike after almost 3mths only and one never got chance to see his bike also. And abt cost at last came almost same.

3) For instance I decide to import a bike worth Rs.2 lakh NC from Singapore. How much will it roughly cost me in total after adding up for taxes, custom duties, freight charges via air and registrations, etc.

= Abt cost due to sportsbike showrooms in Nepal work has been so easy for vansar ppl they straightly ask 71% to 100 plus%percent of your Bike Cost Price as per Market value i.e. CBR600RR 13.5 lakh ko 71 to 100 plus percent.... they will not say your bike is second hand or first hand... you have to make paper of first hand... This is the thing they say only.... but no worries nowadays latest update 3lakhs ma bike clear hunchha... so total with everything will cost you 3lakhs or plus for vansar, Reg + Road tax + other charges 50k less, Freight 75k to 100k... grand total = 300k + 50k + 100k = 450k Nrs (Plus Minus)... Bike Price is still not added. For me I spend ard 20K SGD (SGD 1 = NRS 50 ++)for my CBR600RR...

= Before YES we could do that they didn't know the bike price but now situation changed... straight away 200k to 300k ready banaye hunchha if not they start to tell you story abt nepal ko showroom price... best is if you have ppl in vansar and money in your hands... TENSION LENEKA NAI DENEKA.... hehehhe.... Any questions... feel free.... I will try to explain my best...Jai merobike.com

So does this mean that the final cost of getting the bike in here will be moreover like this...

Original Cost of the Bike + 71% or 100% Custom Duties + Rs.4,00,000(Registration, Road tax, Freight, etc.

Trajick Ace : Without nepali VAT... coz nepali ko VAT halne bani chha... for me my CBR cost around SGD20K = NRS 1M around. But now NRS 1M plus parchha hola coz NRS ko value is less. Yup I am frm Singapore.

Hotwheels : Bro, you got nice budget but I can't give you confirmation. Atlest your budget need to have NRS 1M... But no worries you good budget just wait for the good time... Hunata I got 98' 99' ko Suzuki 750 chha but bijok condition ma chha... If you can maintain it can be good bike with some magic touch... Let see few mth after I'm coming back to Nepal I'll check the bike and put on sale in merobike.com... hehehhe.... Advance announcement Suzuki 750 srad on Auction bidding price starts frm NRS300k (mero vansar ko charge.. hehehehe)

I-use : Bro, bike will cost around 800k to 1M (Second hand) or Plus and First hand cheaper than Nepal ko showroom. Second hand is lil expensive coz first rider must pay all his Tax and everything.

Cheers guys... hope to help you more..
