Rossi tries hand in F1 with Ferrari
« Reply #124 on: February 04, 2010, 10:51:53 PM »

MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi showed impressive pace in a Formula One car at the end of two days of testing with Ferrari in Barcelona on Thursday.

The Italian, who had a few spins on Wednesday when the track was wet, completed more than 600km behind the wheel at the Circuit de Catalunya and finished with a best time of one minute 21.900 seconds.

That compared with this year's fastest race lap of 1:22.762 set by Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button's pole position time of 1:20.527.

The 30-year-old had the advantage of a 2008 car on slick tyres and light on fuel but Ferrari insiders were impressed by the Italian's ability to learn and improve his times consistently.

"It shows he has the talent to progress," commented one.

Ferrari have tried to recruit Rossi in the past and team boss Stefano Domenicali said last week he would check on the Italian's availability if they had the chance to race a third F1 car in the future.

Rossi, who has talked more of a future in rallying after MotoGP, told the Ferrari website (www.ferrari.com) he would "have given anything for such a lap time" in his sixth test in a Formula One car.

Brazilian Felipe Massa will take over the car on Friday as he continues his recovery from the serious head injuries he suffered in Hungary last year. Formula One testing in current equipment is banned until Feb. 1.

"As the car and the track were available I thought it would be helpful to go onto the track for a day to continue gaining confidence with the Formula One," Massa told the website.

Rossi in Delhi, photos and story
« Reply #125 on: February 19, 2010, 10:36:09 PM »

Current MotoGP World Champion, Valentino Rossi visited the 10th Auto Expo being held in New Delhi. This is Rossi’s first visit to India and to Asia’s biggest motor show, Auto Expo 2010.

Rossi went on stage to meet India Yamaha Motor’s senior management, Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO and Managing Director of India Yamaha Motor and Pankaj Dubey, National Business Head of India Yamaha Motor, as well as 300 selected guests made up of dealers and media.

Speaking to the press, Rossi said, “This is my very first visit to India and I am impressed by the beauty of this country, although sadly I did not have much time to visit Delhi. I hope to be able to come back soon and have more time to enjoy this place. Yamaha has been doing great things here and the positive response from the market is the evidence that they have been going in the right direction. The new models YZF-R15 and FZ16, which are less-powerful replicas of the R1 and the Fazer, are definitely appropriate for this market and for the characteristics of the traffic here in India. In fact I am amazed at the traffic and the incredible numbers of cars and bikes on the road all the time, by day and night!

While in Delhi, Valentino Rossi also met Bollywood Actor and Yamaha India’s brand ambassador, John Abraham.

On the subject of MotoGP racing in India, Rossi said, “I’m flying home now but it has been a very good trip; I am happy to have so many fans here in India and I hope that one day we will have the chance to race here.”

Rossi bruised but not seriously injured after motocross accident
Friday, 16 April 2010

The Fiat Yamaha rider suffered no serious injuries in the training fall and will take part in the Grand Prix of Japan next weekend.

Valentino Rossi has escaped with minor injuries after a fall in a motocross training exercise on Thursday near Pesaro.

At first the reigning World Champion did not feel any discomfort, but on Friday morning some pain in his back meant that Rossi opted to have a medical check-up.

An X-Ray confirmed that the 31 year-old Italian had sustained some bruising, but also ruled out any injuries that would prevent him from riding in the Grand Prix of Japan, to be held at the Motegi circuit from April 23rd-25th

Rossi moving to DUCATI.....

Guys is it ture... after years of good time with Yamaha Rossi will be taking cover for Casey Stoner who will be moving to Repsol Honda next season. And 2 years contract for Nicky with Ducati.

If it is ture then it would be great move and next season will be more intresting and fun....

Early injury of Rossi and out of 4 races yo year ko Motogp nai khallo vayo... Lorenzo ahead with healthy lead...

Hunata one Den ma two Lions one must go. Lorenzo in full run... bright future with Yamaha and Rossi had done enough for Yamaha now time for Ducati.

Yo news I got frm something eurosports or somewhere else but I am not sure... can you clearify me ... anyone....

Rossi Fan....
