On New Year's Eve 2007 Maddison set a new world record for distance jumping on a motorcycle as he traveled more than 320 feet -- the length of a football field -- in a jump in Las Vegas (exact distance: 322 feet 7 1/2 inches).

Maddison also holds two additional world records – for the longest jump on a 125cc motorcycle (221 feet) and the longest jump with a trick (246 feet).
All this success is amazing from someone who started riding when he was five, but took off a couple of years to be an electrician.
His goals are simple: "My career is my best achievement, from electrician to an internationally recognized FMX freak in two years, that’s what I’m proudest of," he says. "I want to beat every other guy, fair and square," he says. "I want an X-Games Gold medal for FMX, Big Air. I want to win the Dew Tour, I want to jump a dirt bike further than anyone else and I want to race super moto, and win."
