Brazilian Alex Barros has quit MotoGP and will ride in the World Superbike Championship next season.

Barros was not satisfied with the offers he had received to stay in MotoGP, and has decided to try his luck in the Superbike class.

"I don't want to compete if I can't be a contender," Barros told the sports daily Lance. "My goal now is to be a world champion in the Superbike."

It ends a 16-year association in MotoGP/500c for the 35-year-old. During that time he won seven races, earned five pole positions and had 31 podium finishes. He was fourth in the championship on five separate occasions.

hey man! have u seen the latest moto gp race held in Jerez, 65 Capirossi Loris won the race from DUCATI Marlboro TEAM in the timing of 45'57.733. Though it was unfortunate moment for Valentino Rossi as he crashed down at the early time of race ( after a few sec of the  start) , it was reaally surprising that he wasn't hurt much n could continue the race again and was able to come 14th place finally. But Capirossi's performances was really nice.  NOW i think the new rossi is better than old one, what do u say guys?? :frog:

cant say from that race how is the new rossi
coz its still cle4ar that yamaha has a chattering problem ......
but rossi is rossi ......he was late by around 45 sec by that crash
n still finished about 1 min 5 sec from no 1 so it means he is a good rider
but still cant say for sure ....wht n watch next race ...it will be fun
coz thr will be 3 bikes these time yamaha , honda , n new ducati

that is the race winner is ROSSI.........
starting from 6th in the grid .........he won the race ...
look at the chart ........... he lets the nicky haden
to lead the race for one lap n then again takes
the lead thats the way rossi always does ......

Guys did u all watch the Motto GP today? What a let down for Rossi man.........He was doing pertty well but all of a sudden he felt that something has gone wrong with the bike.............He started on the 13th row but he did manage to come up to the fifth position then suddenly his bike gave up ..........i had actually predicted that Hayden was gonna take this trophy but again to my surpreise his team mate...........( forgot his name ) took the trophy..........anyway three cheers for the Repsol Team and congrats to Hayden for coming second...................I know most of u guys are dissapointed cos Rossi didn't make it anyway no worries coz the Docter still remains the World Best Rider :yea:
