One lap lasts 3.4 miles (5.5 kilometres).

Stoner on top and with a speed advantage of around 10k's over non Ducati riders. The only guy to go close was Pedrosa clocking around 320 to Stoners 325. Rossi and Edwards were around the 312 mark.

1. John Hopkins Suzuki 2:01.204
2. Marco Melandri Honda 2:01.303 + 0.099
3. Dani Pedrosa Honda 2:01.333 + 0.129
4. Nicky Hayden Honda 2:01.346 + 0.142
5. Loris Capirossi Ducati 2:01.365 + 0.161
6. Valentino Rossi Yamaha 2:01.390 + 0.186
7. Colin Edwards Yamaha 2:01.409 + 0.205

11. Randy de Puniet Kawasaki 2:01.896 + 0.692
12. Chris Vermeulen Suzuki 2:01.991 + 0.787
13. Alex Barros Ducati 2:02.051 + 0.847
14. Toni Elias Honda 2:02.114 + 0.910
15. Makoto Tamada Yamaha 2:02.242 + 1.038
16. Kenny Roberts Jr KR 2:02.564 + 1.360
17. Sylvain Guintoli Yamaha 2:02.768 + 1.564
18. Olivier Jacque Kawasaki 2:02.818 + 1.614
19. Shinya Nakano Honda 2:02.977 + 1.773

Former team mates bringing up the rear.

From Crash.net

"Emphasising the need for a balanced bike around Shanghai was the fact that Hopkins was only 14th fastest through the speed trap, some 15km/h slower than the d'Antin Ducati Alex Barros (329km/h), but - as things stand - the Desmosedicis will still have a clear advantage in terms of overtaking ability in the race. Having been on the receiving end of Ducati horsepower at Qatar, Rossi will also be wary after giving away 13.3km/h to Barros this afternoon."

I might need a gun to stop stoner
Rossi said that.........but why.......
Qualifying round ma pheri wild garyo ki kya ho stoner ley..........

After Qatar Rossi said he needed 0.6 seconds on the straights to beat Stoner. When asked what he needed this time he said "This time I need a gun. When I look at the top speeds, I cry a little."

FP1
1st - Stoner -> 2'01.538
2nd Hopkins -> 2'01.603
3rd Rossi -> 2'02.050

A half second behind in FP1. This could means tire selection misses or problems with bike setup.

FP2
6th -> Valentino -> Discarted, no progress made by any other top rider except by Rossi that for sure here, he take out the delay in succeeding a good bike setup.

FP3
5th -> Valentino -> one of the worst top rider with Michellin, turning 2 minutes high within a bunch of laps above 2:01.

QF -> Rossis continues to turn 2 minutes high, while a bunch of riders turning 2 minutes low with race tires. This is not good for someone who matchs for the victory.

TODAY , MOTO GP of CHINA ; STONER again proved that it wasn't his fortune or luck that he won previous two races of MOTO GP 2007 , it's his talent  along with DUCATI   and BRIDGSTONE that made him victorious yet again and THE  DR. could do nothing about it.
CONGRATS  STONER and thanks to HOPKINS that he let the rossi to be atleat 2nd position.
haha
 :yea:

STONER'S TOP SPEED IS 333.5 KMH in today's race.

Many congratulations to Casey Stoner!!!!!! Today, he was just too good, there were no mistake. Winning 3 out of 4 races..not bad I would say.I know Rossi doesn't give up, and sometimes Rosssi does things which look impossibe, but I really think if Casey Stoner wouldn't have made a mistake he would still have ended in front of Rossi. The Ducati is just too quick..i think the Power of Machine is making the diff.....

Dani did a good job as well. Maybe not a great result, but good enough At least 4th is better than .........
Is it Honda's fault or just a 250cc world champ's lackness. He was 8.6 behind stoner in qatar, 1.2 in Jerez (pretty damn good), 14 secs down in China! aba k bhanney... jhan prog expect gareko thiyo......
